Porcupine Balls

1 lb ground beef
1/2 cup long grain rice
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup chopped onion
Dash celery seed
2-4 cloves minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon salt
Fresh-ground pepper to taste
1 egg
15 oz can tomato sauce
28 oz can diced tomatoes
1 cup water
2 teaspons Worcestershire sauce
Oregano to taste


  1. Mix first 8 ingredients. Add egg and mix through.
  2. Hand form 14-16 meatballs and brown in large skillet.
  3. Stir together next 5 ingredients.
  4. Pour sauce over browned meatballs, bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat, simmer 45 minutes.
