Ingredients

3/4 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup light molasses
1 egg
2 tsp. baking soda
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp cloves
1/2 tsp ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Melt shortening, let cool. Add sugar, molasses & eg; beat well.
  2. Sift the rest of the ingredients together. Add to the first mix, and chill.
  3. Form into 1 inch balls and roll in sugar.
  4. Bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes.
